Editor in Chief Jon Dorn shows you how to get a fire going with nothing but your cellphone, a piece of steel wool, and some tinder

You will need:

A Cell Phone
Brillo Pad (steel wool)
Tender

Step One: Take the battery out of the phone and find the positive and negative contact points on the base of the battery

Step Two: Tear off a chunk of the steal wool and roll it up into a piece about an inch and a half long. Long enough to bend over like a paperclip.

Step Three: Bend the piece of steel wool to touch the positive and negative contact points of the battery. That will create a short. The short will start to cause the steel wool to smolder.

Step Four: Getting the steel wool to light the tender. Either use a water proof tender that can burn easily even if it's wet, or use very dry tender that will light easily. It may take several tries so be patient.
